I had the opportunity to go share my experience with art and life with the students at Upturn Arts, a program that teaches children in the New Orleans community to explore and build confidence in themselves as artists. Upturn Arts is dedicated to creating a diverse and inclusive environment through a communal space that welcomes children and families of all identities and from all circumstances. Children that take part in their program are encouraged to collaborate, be openly expressive, and be confident in themselves and their art. It was amazing to be a part of such a meaningful program and spend the day with children strengthening their interest in the arts.
